Fangirl's Love


For three hours

My bladder has been holding itself in
because of not going away from my seat.
But, I do not want to miss any of your service.
My right hand has been numbing
because of nonstop waving of a stick.
But, I want you to see that I am participating the project.
My mouth has been drying up
            because of loud screams and chants.
            But, I want you to know that I am enjoying your stage.
My eyes have been blinding
because of the bright lights.
But, I want to see you clearly onstage.

That is why

My heart has been jumping of joy and overwhelm
             Because you saved me from a depression,
Because you instilled in me an inspiration that
Keeps my body alive
Though tired.

My Life as a  떡볶이  (Tteokbokki) If I were to give a metaphor to my complicated self and life, a cute way to do that is by using the Korean dish named “ 떡볶이 ” (tteokbokki or ddeokbokki). It might not be familiar with many Filipinos but it is actually a highly popular street food and a comfort food of Koreans that fans of K-pop and K-drama, like me, consider this as one of the basics in understanding the Korean culture.
