St. Joseph Academy: A Private School
St. Joseph Academy: A Private School
St. Joseph Academy (SJA) is a private institution
in San Jose, Batangas owned by Dr. Leonardo Ona and his wife, Mrs. Candelaria Ona. The school is known for two things: one is the discipline taught by its teachers and the other is its school building in the Main Campus.
Most of the school's structure is made up of wood since the then-administrators turned their home into a house of bright minds, praise-worthy skills and talents with acquired good habits.
From its 1947 establishment until now, the wooden classrooms are still being utilized by the Academicians (as how the students would refer to themselves as SJA students) staying in the Main Campus.
Even though it has been expected for a private school to have a large, cement-structured classrooms, SJA is a different one.
With no news of complete renovation, SJA and its administrators would want to preserve the natural construction of the school. Together with its wood structure, the campus all in all exudes "privateness," something that is personal.
The "wooden" campus seems to hide some secrets:
Secrets of the people who used to live there,
Secrets of the students who studied there.
The "wooden" campus seems to be hiding something that is not intended to be known by the public, something that must be kept inside the school.
Be it wooden or not, St. Joseph Academy will be there to stay in San Jose and will still and continue to be a private school.
